Train Decoupling

Note: the train coupling and decoupling features originate from the OpenTTD YPS patch px-patch ports this patch to the current version and improves upon its features.

OpenTTD px-patch implements train coupling and decoupling for OpenTTD. Players can couple or decouple two trains inside a station, adjusting consists, orders, and more. Based on this feature, we can achieve:

  1. Reversing by decoupling the locomotive in a station and re-coupling on the other side of the platform
  2. Two trains coupling and running together
  3. Trains executing different orders after decoupling
  4. Swapping between electric and non-electric locomotives
